Supplements: Caffeine or how I learned to love Coffee

Love it or hate it, coffee is one of the most traded consumables on earth.
There's a good reason for it too. Aside from the taste, relatively cheap cost, anti-oxidant properties, coffee has caffeine!  There's something called Adenosine
and when the body gets tired, they hook up to the brain's Adenosine receptors.  Coffee inhibits this connection, So the Pituitary gland sees this, is fooled into an emergency state, and signals the body's Adrenaline gland to release Adrenaline.

The positive effects of Caffeine:
  • Reduces appetite
  • Decreases depression
  • Increased alertness when tired
  • Willingness to consider alternative theories
  • Increases physical stamina and reduces perceived exertion
  • Increases performance on boring, repetitive tasks
Effects that may aid in weight loss:
  • Reduction of appetite
  • Increased metabolism
  • Stimulation to the body's GI system

Stay away from those high priced, blended sugar drinks - They are not weight loss friendly.  It's best to drink coffee without any cream or sugar.  This may be impossible for some in which case, moderation is key.  Look for  high quality coffee beans.  Most stores have grinders next to the beans, this is the best way to buy your coffee.  A simple drip machine can be bought for as low as $10.
Remember that coffee is a stimulant and can make sleep difficult if consumed too late.

  • Heart Enlargement: In case of overweight people the heart muscles need to overwork so as to pump blood to all the body parts. This excess work done by heart muscles results in heart enlargement.
  • Stroke: Improper or insufficient blood supply to brain cells results in stroke. Obese people tend to have the problem of proper blood circulation.
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome: Due to abnormal production of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone the ovary tends to form many benign cysts. Being overweight can stimulate abnormal secretion of 2 hormones, hence, leading to polycystic ovarian syndrome.
  • Pulmonary Embolism: Pulmonary embolism can be defined as fatal blockage of arteries. It is observed that many overweight people tend to be inactive, hence, it results in accumulation of fat in arteries.

What may start as a benign body issue, could fester into debilitating disease.
